Watercolour is one of the most difficult mediums to work in. Different artists use this medium in various ways. Some use it as watercolours are know, tranclucent, while other use it with much more solid colours. Either way, watercolours are an excellent medium. In the past, watercolour was not accepted and artists who used this medium had to fight for their rights to exibit along side oil paintings and other more "acceptable" mediums. When galleries started accepting this medium, they were still not happy with it being displayed and used to hang all the watercolour paintings either very high where no one could really see them, or in small rooms where there was usually no or very poor light. Luckily, today, this medium is as well respected as all others.
